The Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council's (GLITC) Aging and Disability Services provides technical support for Tribal Aging Units for Wisconsin Tribes as well as employs staff to support Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) services.
Provides tribal elders (55+) with Legal/Benefits Assistance to include Medicare, Medical Assistance, Social Security, Wills, Consumer Problems, etc.
Provides Benefit Specialists, who help older adults (60+) and adults with disabilities with questions and problems related to benefits such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, FoodShare and Health Insurance.
Legal Action of Wisconsin (LAW) is a non-profit law firm providing free civil legal services. They provide full representation, brief advice, and easy-to-understand resources to people who would otherwise face their legal problem alone in the following areas: housing, employment, debt & taxes, public benefits, family law, and victim support. They have staff to work with specific populations, including veterans, seniors, farmworkers, people who use drugs or are in recovery, students, and those near release or recently released from prison.
Participants have about 15 minutes to ask questions of a volunteer attorney in a variety of legal areas.
