Has Elderly and Disability Benefit Specialists who provide information about, and assistance applying for, government and other benefits that you may be entitled to receive. They advocate for you when you have consumer problems and provide referrals to other services and programs when necessary.
Provides long term care options counseling, screening for publicly funded long term care programs (Family Care and IRIS), and information and assistance on home care, nutrition, financial assistance and benefits, and housing options.
Provides Elder and Disability Benefit Specialists. The Benefit Specialists are trained to assist adults living with a disability and older adults (60+) who who want to know more about private or public benefits, who are seeking assistance in organizing the paperwork required to apply for benefits, who are having a problem in securing a public or private benefit, or who have been denied a benefit that they think they are entitled to receive.
The Center for Driver's License Recovery & Employability (CDLRE) works with low-income Milwaukee County residents to obtain a valid driver’s license by: • Resolving active suspensions and/or revocations against current Wisconsin driver’s licenses • Resolving active suspensions and/or revocations against one’s ability to obtain a Wisconsin driver’s license
Legal Action of Wisconsin (LAW) provides same-day, in-person eviction, prevention and diversion services at the courthouse in Milwaukee and La Crosse counties through the Eviction Defense Project (EDP). This project serves only tenants with hearings scheduled the day of service. Free legal help includes brief legal advice, document drafting, settlement assistance and in-court representation.
