The Milwaukee Justice Center Mobile Legal Clinic is a project of the Marquette University Law School and the Milwaukee Bar Association. Its goal is to bring the free legal services provided by the Milwaukee Justice Center (which are typically provided in person out of their location at the Milwaukee County Courthouse) out into neighborhoods in the community where it may be difficult for people to receive help.

The Mobile Legal Clinic travels to host sites, including libraries, food pantries, and social service organizations to provide legal advice where community members already gather. They provide assistance at several recurring host sites once a month. Some legal clinics are open to the public, while others serve only those who are registered to receive services through the host site. See descriptions in the Mobile Legal Clinic calendar for more information.

The clinic can help with:

  • Landlord/tenant
  • Eviction & eviction records
  • Small claims
  • Debt/collections
  • Probate
  • Guardianships
  • Divorce
  • Child custody & placement
  • Child support
  • Pardons/expungement eligibility (post-conviction cases only; no active cases)

This brief civil/family legal advice clinic operates on a first-come, first-served basis. They do not provide representation, go to court with clients, or assist with filing court forms/e-filing.
