Department of Agriculture, Trade, Consumer Protection - Milwaukee
The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is Wisconsin's primary consumer protection agency. Its Bureau of Consumer Protection educates consumers on best practices to combat and avoid scams, fraud, and unfair business practices. DATCP is ready to provide consumers and businesses with free resources, answer their questions, and assist them if they have lost money or private data to theft.
DATCP maintains Wisconsin's Consumer Protection Hotline, a free resource consumers can call or email to speak with real consumer protection staff for information on current scams, consumer laws and publications, to check for complaints against a business, or to learn how to file a complaint. Consumers can contact the Hotline team to ask questions and discuss topics such as:
