Aging and Disability Resource Center of Dane County
The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Dane County provides information on private and government benefits and programs. This includes assisting individuals when they have questions or when they need help with the process of accessing Medicare, Social Security, or other benefits.
The Disability Benefit Specialist (DBS) Program provides counseling, advocacy, and technical assistance regarding: Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security Disability Income (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), FoodShare, and more. The DBS may also assist with disability applications and appeal procedures. The DBS does not assist with private health insurance, taxes, tax or financial advice, or housing assistance.
The Elder Benefit Specialist (EBS) Program provides legal advice/representation for senior adults (age 60+) residing in Dane County that are faced with benefit, housing and other disputes or denials, complications, changes in benefits, claims not paid, and other similar issue groups that have an economic or socially isolating effect on the older adult.

How to Get Service
Stop in, Call, Email, or Request a Home Visit.
If you call during business hours, an Information & Assistance Specialist will answer the phone. You will be able to talk to them right away about your situation. ADRC staff will listen to you and will ask you questions that will help them understand your preferences and needs. They will then narrow down some options for assistance with you and help you determine the next steps to work toward your goals.
